So far so good for NBA playoffs

In Uncategorized on April 30, 2012 at 9:50 PM

Since its hard to take baseball seriously yet with 100+ games left, I’ve always liked the NBA playoffs. So far this season has had some great games with the Thunder and Mavs coming down to the last possession in both games and the Clippers going on a 28-1 run against the Grizzlies to come back and win. Hope the rest of the postseason keeps this up.

Metta World Peace

Metta World Peace is a pretty weird name for a guy who does stuff like this. It seemed like Ron Artest had turned the corner from his old ways, such as attacking a fan in the stands and basically starting a riot, among other things. But the foul that got him ejected from today’s game was one of the most bizarre and stupid things I’ve ever seen. I’ll post the link to the video below for if you haven’t seen it. He basically scores, turns around to celebrate then brushes up against James Harden of the Thunder and elbows him as hard as he can on the side of the head and keeps running down court. I honestly feel bad for Artest because I just don’t think he can help it. The dude is just crazy but he can be likable at times. That being said I think he should be suspended for the rest of the season because what he did was more like assault than a foul. Thoughts?

Horror story from fantasy draft day

In Uncategorized on April 16, 2012 at 8:54 PM

Here’s a humorous story about what happens when a baseball nut does a friend a favor in Kenya that jeopardizes a 23-year streak of being present on draft day for his fantasy league. It’s funny. Dan is a most excellent journalist and a very wise man. He must be as he hired me for my first actually important journalism job, way back when.
